GLS is starting to show its ugly head. Found the first few cases of it today. Why we plan on spraying most of our fields with a fungicide such as Headline Amp or Quilt Excel. Be on the lookout for this and other diseases to start showing up with the humidity and winds.

Drove 180.3 miles last week on the 4-wheeler scouting. Holy smokes!

Rain Needed

It's a little dirty riding fields the last few days. Add the 40 MPH wind today and I look like I've been hitting the tanning bed.

Back to the scouting regiment.  Been rolling hard since Monday. Corn is looking good out here in Central Nebraska.

Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I have posted anything on here. Between working on videos for Matt, getting ready for finals, synchronizing and A.I.'ing it has been a hectic last couple of weeks. Throw in a couple of first communions and there hasn't been much time to do anything but work. But I prefer it that way. Nobody that is successful has made it there without burning the midnight oil and working their tail off. I feel that it is just something that I need to do to help my self get to where I want to be. Make sure to check out all of the videos that I have produced for Matt. Also look for the MLC advertising package for your upcoming sales. Videos, pictures, and a pump up video, not to mention the blog. It would be a no brain investment for your sale.

Go Time

Definitely go time here in Central Nebraska. Planter in about every other field I've driven by on way to and from class. Guys aren't messing around with possible rain later this week. That means will have to start up the scouting season pretty soon.

Busy Weekend

Sorry for lack of posts. (Which some posts are pointless and just stuff that I find humorous). Been busy of course rocking out the Matt Lautner cattle videos. Went to Lincoln Saturday morning for the Nebraska Spring Game which we were able to tailgate for an hour then we got out of there before the storms (game was later cancelled). Dodged storms the rest of the weekend and back to school this week. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Spring Game Weekend Weather

It is not too often that on the 3-day outlook (for Saturday) that you will see a Moderate risk area already. Could be an interesting day with the OU spring game and the Nebraska spring game both taking place Saturday. If you are going to either one make sure to pay attention to what's going on. The way this system is setting up could be a day full of long lasting and strong tornadoes. Stay safe out there everyone!

Working Calves

Getting to that time of year.Worked about 70 calves this morning before I had to head to Kearney for class. Pink-eye, booster, and cut the bulls. I got stuck doing the grunt work pushing the calves into the cradle. Lucked out and didn't get kicked once. Good day!

Hat Supply

What does it mean when just from the back window of my car I could wear a different cattle hat for a good two weeks. Need to do some Spring Cleaning.
